Lying Louise: A biography
I once got a key ring from the zoo that said the name Louise has Germanic origins and means ‘female warrior,’ while in French it means ‘victorious in battle’- this makes me sounds like some mental Xena Warrior type person, which I would only partly agree with. So in light of my zoo key ring…

Yelling obscene, ridiculous stuff down a microphone at a video game, performing mad overtaking manoeuvres on the Bandit, chasing you up the road in your stupid little car, or voicing your hatred for those copper bracelets right in front of the man who’s selling them… You were a very, very silly man.
But you were also helpful, kind, and caring. You were always willing to lend a hand, whether to change a part, give a lift, or offer support when you were needed by me or anyone else. Not having you around will prove to be very tough. I enjoyed watching you play music in the drum room or on stage, and you were very talented.
You’ve always been around, from me being baby and forever after. You were like a brother to me, Leo, Paul, Mark and Dave, and you were always welcome in our house, beard or otherwise. Our New Year drunkness will never be quite the same.
How will we manage to play tactically on Battlefield without your leadership? Who will I teabag now? At least I already have your dog tags…
I still can’t believe you’re gone, I woke up this morning and almost convinced myself it was all a flu-induced dream. You’ll be sorely missed, John.

Moonlight
Before I decided to write about cars, I wrote poetry, short stories… other crap. It’s where my obsession with ‘flow’ comes from. Anyway, I’m sharing a bit. Enjoy.
Moonlight
You lay across me in my bed, and I glowed like you.
You twisted on my sheets, keeping me awake.
Come morning you were gone.
But you’ll be back.
I know you visit other people, too.
You let them bask in your beauty.
Posing for anyone who wants you,
Knowing I love you most of all.
You’re cruel and unfaithful, moonlight,
But I’ll forgive you for as long as you’ll lay with me.
I’ll never be bitter, so long as you’re beautiful.
I’ll let you keep me up all night, forever more.
You fill me with insanity when you come by.
I can’t give you up, even if I should hate you.
Maybe I can take a picture, and keep you in my wallet.
But I can’t trust you, Luna.
I’m closing my curtains. I don’t hate you.

Ken Block is an absolute legend. I dare you to not be impressed. Also, when you’re done with the video, read Tim’s interview with KB in the latest (first) issue of Racing & Waiting, as transcribed by moi.

Apparently, the facelifted Smart has a really, really loud stereo. One that causes absolute chaos, and smashes glass. It’d better come with run-flats too, or we’re buggered. Oh wait, it has an automatic ‘tidy the city’ button on it’s key fob, something not seen on a car since the Mk1 Ford Consul, so those run-flats aren’t needed. Everyone else will need them though.
